TUTORIAL LAVENDER SACHETS

Hi dear friends,

as promised here is a tutorial of how I made my little lavender sachets.

First choose some fabric scraps you like, I made them out of my Liberty fabrics.

Futhermore you need cute little buttons, ribbon and dried lavender flowers.

Cut a piece of your fabric measuring 4 1/2" x 11" and a 2" piece of your ribbon. Fold in half and sew together with 1/4" seam allowance.

Turn down about 1/2" and sew in place.

Now box your sachet. Lie the curner flat on your working table, measure 1" and sew in place.

Cut away at a 1/4". Now fill about half of your sachet with dried lavender flowers.

Grab the opening and fold as shown, fix in place and sew.

Place the little ribbon piece and sew on. Fix your button in the center of the ribbon.

Done! You have a lovely last minute gift. Happy Holiday and peace.

LITTLE CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

Hi dear friends,

yesterday I went to my sewing room without really knowing what to do and stardet grabbing some fabric scraps (Liberty). Some time ago I bought dry lavender flowers with the idea to make perfumed sachets. And finally I ended up with three lovely gifts for Christmas.

Soon I'll make a tutorial to show how I made them. Have a nice week.

CAPPUCCINO QUILT

AFTER A QUITE LONG BREAK I FINALLY GOT THE INSPIRATION FOR A NEW QUILT. IT WILL BE A QUILT FOR MY DH AND SO IT IS MORE MASCULINE. I LOOKED FOR LOTS OF NEUTRAL FABRICS AND I CALLED IT CAPPUCCINO.

HERE IS THE PROBABLY FINAL LAYOUT:

THIS MORNING I SEWED THE LAST FOUR BLOCKS AND NOW I THINK IT IS BIG ENOUGH. I WILL JUST ADD A DARKER BROWN BORDER.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK. HUGS.

New Kitchen Garden

Dear friends,

my kitchen garden gave me lots of satisfaction and harvest during this very short time since I started. Unfortunately on August 11th we have a very big landslid on our coast and my garden is in danger. There are only about 20 cm at one corner and the it falls down for 100m.
Here a picture to get you an idea:
Now I'm working on a new kitchen garden, near the green house. Hopefully safer than the first one.

Wish me good work! Luckily due to our climate we can work on it longer then in other places and this soil is far better, because our donkey Alice lived here for a couple of years.
