Pippa and other stories

Hi friends,

again it has been a long time since I wrote on my blog. Pippa...who is Pippa? She is a cute little dog that was abandoned near our house. Immediately we started taking care of her. Food, water and a place to sleep. Fortunatelly the construction of our new barn was just finished and Pippa found a warm place in there.
Thanks to a friend we already found a new family for her (we already have three dogs and can't cara another one (although we would love to).
She will be flying to Germany on March 24th.

A few month ago our mayor started a project of community vegetable gardens. They got a piece of land and it was divided into plots. A friend of mine got one and now she has a beautiful vegetable garden. We now change our products. I got rucola and radishes and she got fresh eggs. Today I'll meet her again and she will get some fresh goat cheese. I hope that next month we can start with our own vegetable garden.

New project and some impressions

Hi friends,

Summer is almost gone and we have been very busy. Actually we still are, but I wantend to post some news, after a long time neglecting my blog.
I didn't sew at all over the last few months and I'm starting to miss it. Although my sewing room is still a mess, I decided what my next project will be. Not a quilt but a skirt, done with a quilt block, the tumbler block. I will work with this tutorial and these are the fabrics I will be using.
Most of them are from Amy Butler's Daisy Chain collection and two are just pillow cases (you can't imagine what an amount of cheap fabric you get with a pillow case on sale!!).
I will do mine with 4 1/2" on top, 8 1/2" at the buttom and high. So I have less tumblers to cut out and the skirt doesn't look to busy. I will post my work in progress.

To end my post here are some fun pictures.
Did Felix catch the baby rat?? No, he didn't. We generally don't want rats around the house, but that one remembered me about the one in the movie Ratatouille. So cute!!!
Here you can see the rainbow that embraced our property, it was like having our own personal, special rainbow.

Hope to come back soon with updating on my skirt project. Have a nice week.

Civil War BOW and flowers

Hi dear friends,

Sunday afternoon, windy, sunny, rainy weather. After washing a mountain of dishes left from our Saturday dinner with friends, I decided to start the 12th block for the Civil War BOW. Here it is:

Block 12 - Louisiana

And here are some pictures of my garden:

Yesterday it was father day here and Valentino made a beautiful picture frame with card for his daddy.

Last, but not least... little Rex wants to say hello...

Have a nice Sunday. Hugs. Pink

MONDAY WORK

Hi friends,

Today I managed to finish my block for the Civil War BOW.

Block 11 - London Square

And while Rex was resting....

I made my first two blocks for the 6" Block Swap Australia. My very nice partner is Medora from Canada. I enjoyed to know her and to sew this two blocks for her. I hope she likes them.

Friendship Star and Ohio Star

And now, after this productive day I have to think about dinner.... probably Hamburgers, Valentino will be a happy boy!!

NEW PUPPIES

Hi friends,
Our puppies Bianca and Brownie have a new home. With our last one Rex I had to fight with myself. Can I keep him or not?, was the big question. We already have 2 dogs, 5 cats and manymore....
But... I couldn't resist, he is to cute and sweet. So the family agreed :)
Here are new pictures. I will post more when I have him resting.

He looks like a little bear. Hugs. Pink
